To all of us here at Telos Alliance's Radio Division—Telos, Omnia, Axia, and 25-Seven—supporting our customers is our top priority. That’s why we were first to offer 24/7 support. Innovation Never Sleeps.

Always 'on' to create the solutions you need.

Innovation

At the Telos Alliance our R&D group is tireless. Over the last 30 years, we created the first DSP-based broadcast phone system, pioneered the first fully digital FM broadcast audio processor, and were the first to license MP3 worldwide. We also invented Livewire®, the first broadcast-capable AoIP protocol, and with it, the earliest AoIP consoles and products ever to hit the market. Voltair—still the only monitor and processor for watermarking—sent ripples through the industry. And the list of firsts goes on... Why do we stay up all night on the quest for disruptive innovation? To give you the solutions you need to sleep soundly.

Some of our innovations include:

  • First to create a broadcast audio phone system that included DSP processing to improve the quality of on-air phone calls.
  • First to license MP3 in the United States.
  • Designed the first all-digital FM audio processor and first DSP-based broadcast audio processor.
  • Introduced first broadcast processor with 48KHz audio sampling rate.
  • Inventors of Livewire®, the first fully broadcast-capable AoIP system that includes audio, GPIO control, and advertising.
  • Innovators of new tech and features in broadcast processing, including the first broadcast processors to have AES composite output, Single Side Band (SSB) for FM Stereo, and Audio over IP.
  • Creators of Voltair and challengers of the status quo in the ratings watermarking game.
  • Founding members of the Media Networking Alliance and staunch proponents of the AES67 interoperability standard.
  • Developers of µMPX™ audio codec, which transports high-quality Multiplexed FM signals over a small 320kbps data pipe.

Telos Alliance Leads the Way on AES67

RNS-AES67-LW.png

When the Audio Engineering Society published the AES67 standard for Audio over IP in September 2013, it symbolized the culmination of years of development work by people across the broadcast industry. But for Telos, it symbolized not just an industry standard, but the realization of the vision of our founder, Steve Church...
