Broadcast Career Rooted in the Classics

Tony Rudel Tells Us Why the Classics Rock

Anthony Rudel

The son of an orchestra conductor, Anthony Rudel grew up with classical music all around him. And while he did not follow in his father as a conductor or classically-trained musician, the careers of the two men have had the same distinct mission: to bring classical music to the masses. But instead of an orchestra, Anthony has used a different vehicle: Radio.

We may not think about it much, but classical music and radio are old friends. Some of the earliest radio broadcasts were those of symphony orchestras, and classical music was often used as a backdrop for early radio programs.

Our Denny Sanders sat down with Anthony Rudel recently to get a feel for a broadcast career rooted in the classics.
