Connecting the Land Down Under

Telos iPort PLUS plays role in continent-wide audio distribution network.

With over 100 radio stations distributed across the entire continent, Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) is Australia’s largest commercial radio broadcaster. Each of these stations combines live and local programming along with content originating from multiple network hubs, coming from up to four different source cities on any given day.

That’s a lot of radio! And a lot of audio program distribution and contribution.

Making it all work seamlessly was quite a challenge when SCA grew by leaps and bounds upon merging with several smaller broadcasters in 2011. Kirk Harnack details how the challenges of this herculean project were met with a simple, yet powerful solution.
